ARCO experience on Human Development at the HDFS Master in Rome

On the 14th and 15th April 2016, our researcher Federico Ciani will give two lectures on Impact Evaluation and Human Development for the HDFS Master students of Università degli Studi di Roma Tre.

HDFS is a first level Master Program on Human Development and Food Security, a high quality academic training which aims to raise awareness on local and global reasons for chronic poverty traps and to increase the know-how of the actors in development policies and food security. This interdisciplinary postgraduate course is offered by the Università degli Studi di Roma Tre, with the intention of shaping future development policy makers with expertise in bottom-up strategies in human development perspective.

In this academic context, ARCO has been asked to provide specific lectures on evaluation methods for the module on Human Development. Federico Ciani, our Post-doc Coordinator of the Inclusive Development Research Unit, will lead different lectures for the two days Master seminar on Impact Evaluation. In particular, the first lecture will be focused on the introduction of the main impact evaluation methodologies while the second lecture will concentrate on human development and capabilities approach. In conclusion, the students will be asked to perform statistical elaboration through the use of technical tools.
