Under invitation by the United Nations Development Programme and post-2015 Secretariat for the Dialogue on “Localizing the post-2015 Development Agenda”, Prof. Mario Biggeri and Andrea Ferrannini took part in the “High Level Global Dialogue on Localizing the post-2015 Development Agenda”, which was held on 14-15 October 2014 in Turin, Italy.

The post-2015 Development Agenda is the first major policy process in the United Nations informed by a comprehensive global consultation (The World We Want 2015), reaching large numbers of people, and putting a special focus on poor and vulnerable groups. Analyses on the means of implementation of the future agenda, and specifically on its localization, are being carried out through a consultative process all over the world.

The Global High Level Dialogue represents the climax of this consultative process and ARCO contributed to the identification of critical elements and the definition of successful means of implementation of the new development agenda at local level.

Participants of the event included high level representatives from national and local governments, civil society organizations, foundations, UN Agencies, the private sector, accompanied by members of the Advisory Committee on localizing the post-2015 agenda, and the co-leaders of the dialogue on localization.
