ARCO will conduct Emancipatory Research with women with disabilities in Palestina

    In 2015, ARCO was selected to conduct Emancipatory Research with women with disabilities for the project “Empowerment of DPOs promoting women with disabilities’ rights in the West Bank” run by Educaid, Aifo with the financial support of Italian Cooperation.

    This Project aims at protecting the rights of persons with disabilities (PWDs) in Palestina by:

    • Improving the capacity of Disabled People’s Organizations (DPOs) in implementing the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (UNCRPD).
    • Strengthening the awareness , the empowerment and research skills of women with disabilities
    In detail , the project will provide:
    • training courses on data collection, management skills, monitoring and evaluation, inclusive development approach and promotion of Disabled People’s Organizations
    • meetings with policy makers, institutions, association at the regional level to promote WWDs’ rights
    • Networking activities
    • Vocational training
    • Job creation activity

    On the 17th of August one researcher from ARCO Team will go to Bethlem and Ramallah for three weeks to conduct emancipatory research with 60 women with disabilities in West Bank. Next activity will take place in January 2016.
